Jewelry

If you look at the history of currency, people invented the concept of rare stones, and precious metals to facilitate trade. Society then created the concept of jewelry and conditioned minds to think that it makes one look more beautiful. Yet another success stories for the marketing departments.
Philosophically what is jewellery? Dead weight that you lug around. The story of the King and his invisible clothes repeated. The parody is that people refuse to see it.
Financially, families needed to have some liquid assets and needed to keep them safe. So they converted a part of their fortunes into jewellery and hung them on the women kind. During economic downturns, women, noble as they are rise up to the occasion and liquidate these. During economic upturns, it was safe to do so, because women guarded their gold with their lives. How many of you have heard stories about women gambling with their jewellery or selling them to buy drinks. It is always the men who succumb to their vices. The real cool bonus that men reap is by creating a moral obligation on their ladies and extracting all sorts of favors.
A beautiful person really does not need any ornaments. Most men will agree with me (though they might not admit it) that women look the best when naikaid.

Let me let you in on a little secret. Paulay is the cheapest red “Bling Bling”
Hindus had already masterminded the scheme to stick a red dot on the forehead of all the married women to warn others that “This one is taken”. Unfortunately Konks constituted of lots of bluddy perverts who directly talked to the rack rather than greet the eye. So the wise old men of the community got together and decided to put on another sign post hanging on the married women as an additional security measure. Now to implement it, they pulled a magnificent con job convincing the women that “This is bamba”, “You look beautiful”, “If water flows from it on your body, it is good”. Till then corals were just some useless red things that were stacked with shells and sand. I really admire those guys who ever coined the words “precious stones” and created the market for Jewelery, wonderful con job to. Diamonds at least shine, these things don’t even do that. But never will a Konk woman ever accept that she had been conned.

Directions
Right from my child hood, I haven’t found a single place from my mom’s direction. I give her a pencil and paper and ask her to just draw it out and for heaven’s sake, she will stand there and tell you what to do but never touch the paper. Scale of distance and time is perfect – Near can be anywhere between an hour and 2 days away and Far can be anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes. One interesting conversation
Mom: It is right in front of the red building.
I find the place on my own and take my mom there another day and make her stand there and ask – “Where is that red building?”
Mom: It is right behind this building. You can not see it from here, because this building that you wanted to find is blocking it.
Me(now enlightened): Hmm, then how the hell do you expect me to find this building using the red building?
Mom: If you come straight this way you can not, but if you get lost and go to the next street, you know how to get back. But what I told you is correct.
And I consider my mom as one of the better woment that I have known.

Men seldom lie but just keep mum and not report some piece of information that they consider irrelvant. Eventually this gets discovered and women accuse them to be liars. Women also hide information intentionally and if caught they justify “I did that for your own good/I did this because I thought you would not want to know about it/ I did this because I care about you”
And when they do lie, it is so easy to catch men but difficult to catch the women because they actually believe in their lies.
Who lies more is very subjective to the individuals that we consider but more important is who is better equipped to lie? I feel it is the women who add a “cry” with that lie and then the men withdraw their cases.

Bicycle falls
I have observed this among kids, at an young age when their minds might have not yet been conditioned to the norms of societies. When boys fall off their bicyles, the quickly get back to their saddles and flee the scene. They try to mend the damage to the bike/themselves and create fake alibies. They often get embarassed when somebody in the neighborhood delivers the news in the daily gossip channel to their family. The girls on the other hand make such a bigh fuss/cry of their fall that they will wake the whole neighborhood. They are not ashamed of their skill level and are more worried about gaining attention and sympathy.

the basics
The story begins with Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.
Men like to watch sports, be lazy, and change things only when they are broken. Women like to chatter, shop and like to change things to make life interesting. Women worry about lots of things yet never get the big picture. I think that they are happy creatures in general. They exercise more muscles in their face and that makes me sometime think that men lack quite a few of them or do not know how to operate them. There are less then a dozen canned expressions that most men can put on. Each sex is good at certain things but it is my experience that with Women, What you see is what you get. There are exceptions but I find that most women do not have much more inner depth than what they exhibit in the first interaction. Men are more ambitious and take their careers more seriously and the sense of achievement is more important. For most women, careers take the side role and feelings and being heard is most important. Somebody once told me that getting from point A to B the fastest is important for men but the journey and the scenary for the path is important for women. These comments are all generalizations of the majority but individuals can be and are different.

About this blog
A topic frequently visited in many of my conversation is why men and women behave certain ways. Some of them involve discovering the other sex. People want to understand others better so that they can have better relationship, control the situations, manipulate or just wonder.
I am planning on archiving some of the thoughts that people have in this thread - All of which might not be mine. The posts here are heavily biased and prejudiced and I warn you that you should read these only if you have a good sense of humor.
